When our surroundings do not react like what we expect we experience stress. Some people confuse stress with challenges. Sometime your work would challenge you to do better than your last performance. Stress is a serious problem that affects the physical and mental health of employees, and also the productivity of organizations.

Work stress was regarded as more stressful than debt or financial problems

Stress arises when you worry about what you cannot deal with. Key factors of stress such as work environment, management support load etc, work can be stressful and its effect on employee physical and mental health. In every organization and at every level of management and workers an elevated average level of stress is to be found which mostly has an effect on employee’s job satisfaction

According to Paul Farmer Cheif Executive of Mind “Work-related mental health problems are an issue too important for businesses to ignore. We know that right now, one in six workers are experiencing depression, stress or anxiety and yet our survey tells us that most managers don’t feel they have had enough training or guidance to support them”

Four Main Workplace Stressors

Workplace stress in working individuals is negatively associated with the job performance of employees. If the company took action to support the mental wellbeing of all staff, they would feel more loyal, motivated, committed and be likely to recommend their workplace as a good place to work. Office timing in Pakistan is usually 9am to 5pm but originally there is no time limit so employees have to work for longer hours which is a reason for concern and that usually increases the stress level.
